Sjacko Sobczak is a geriatric psychiatrist at Mondriaan and a researcher at Maastricht University. She experienced the kick-off of her new Named Fund on Thursday March 31: the Age@Minds Fund. The new Named Fund was (partly) realized with the proceeds of the successful crowdfunding campaign ‘Give for dignified care without fear’ in 2021.

The fund’s advisory committee met on March 31 to discuss the fund’s ambitions and plans. The members of the committee are Kelly Regterschot (Former member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands), Sylvia Heijnen (Healthcare Director for the elderly, Mondriaan), Roger Ruijters (Chairman of the Board, Envida) and Prof. Arjan Blokland (UM). Guido Vanderbroeck, senior advisor, was present on behalf of the University Fund Limburg/SWOL. We wish them all the best of luck with the Age@Minds Fund!

With the fund’s money, Sjacko Sobczak aims to implement a people-oriented and innovative treatment method for PTSD in elderly people with dementia, which is widely applied in regional and national care centers.
