The official launch of the first Maastricht University crowdfunding project is a fact. On March 15, Ingrid Wijk, director of the Maastricht University Library, officially launched the crowdfunding project at the opening of the Maastricht Antiquarian Book and Print Fair in the St. Janskerk on the Vrijthof in Maastricht.

First milestone
“We didn’t sit still before the start of the campaign,” says Ingrid Wijk. “The project team has actively approached our network within and outside the region. These are organisations and people we know because of their interest in cultural heritage and the special collections of Maastricht University. And with success: only just live and we can already report that more than a quarter of the 12,500 euros needed to bring back the Minervalia, a special book that was printed in 1554 in Maastricht, to Maastricht. A nice and promising start. We hope that many will follow. “
